I like it

There are lots of choices, but I narrowed it down to this one, after years of using another one. Thought the last one was great, but now I have the Waterpik Sensonic and I love it. Even forgot the name of the one I thought was so great before. The Waterpik Sensonic really does the job. Also bought the actual Waterpik, and am now using them both. Life is good with these two products. Recommended, to say the least.

It took a few uses before I got the hang of it, now I have become a fan of Sensonic brushing. It leaves your teeth with a really clean feel. It makes me more conscious of how well I’m brushing my teeth, and how long I brush them.

Teeth And Brush Slippery Clean

I have used the Waterpik Sensonic brand for 30 years or so. Very reliable brand. The sonic effect while brushing is very good and my teeth feel very 
clean and shiny. My problem, as with almost everything else, they have ‘over-teched’ it. There is a timer that interrupts the power to tell you to ‘move 
on’ to another area in your mouth. It is always too soon or too late for my preference. I think I know how to brush my teeth by now! If there was a way to 
disable that ‘feature’ I certainly would. I have just practiced ignoring it. And… I don’t know about you, but when I brush my teeth, saliva and toothpaste 
is running out of my mouth. This goes directly on the toothbrush handle. Since there is not that good of a rubber grip, the toothbrush ends up slipping 
upward in my hand and I have to re-grab it. I am solving this problem by placing rubber bands around the handle to help prevent slippage. Pretty 
crazy to have to do this – a larger rubber grip would have made this brush much better.

Who still use manual?

I’ve had this for over a year now and it is the best. I use this along with the water flosser and it has actually got rid of plaque build up and kept it off. It has also made my teeth whiter. I use it with the larger head and on high speed all the time and i’ve actually gone about 2 weeks on one charge with no signs of sluggish performance. I wish I had the money to invest in this a long time ago.

Quality Issue: Faulty battery / charger

The product manual states the ff: 
1- Charge for 16h prior to first use (Yes, I followed the instruction) 
2- A single charge is good for 1 week of normal use (2x a day) 

I returned my first order within a week of arrival, as the unit would not even operate long enough for a single two-minute use (Battery would die and need a minimum of 16h in the charger before the batt indicator light stopped blinking). When the replacement came, the battery would hold charge enough for only 2 two-minute uses. I did not opt for another replacement and returned the item instead. 

I think there may be manufacturing quality issues with either the built-in battery or the charger unit (at least for batches shipped Apr..May..2009). Two other reviewers, both dated April 4 2009 seem to have experienced related problems.

Toothbrush: Your Teeth’s Bff

When it comes to oral hygiene, your teeth’s BFF is the toothbrush. Through thick and thin, through piles and piles of cavities and bad breath, the toothbrush is there to keep the teeth clean. It’s the number one ally of the mouth and teeth in combating tooth decay, bad breath, and the gruesome process of tooth extraction.

Think of a friend you turn to when you have problems or the person who gives you advices and insight on issues of concern to you¬—that is the toothbrush to your teeth, a dependable buddy both in good times and bad times.

So, when your toothbrush sends you a message or a feedback with regards to the condition of your teeth, you should listen. Your toothbrush is the only friend you can rely on to achieve excellent oral health. Read on and learn the common messages the toothbrush often says.

* Worn looking toothbrush. That’s basically easy to decipher. A worn looking toothbrush means it’s time to seek replacement. Dentists recommend replacement of toothbrush every 3 months.

– Recommendation. Buy a new toothbrush at once. Even if you can’t remember when  you first use the brush, worn bristles indicate immediate replacement.

* Fusty toothbrush. That means you need to find a new storage place for the brush. Damp, sticky toothbrushes are haven to bacteria. So, keep the cover of the brush clean at all times. A stinky toothbrush can also indicate poor oral hygiene. It’s about time to take better care of your mouth.

– Recommendation. Replace your brush and its cover. Rinse the brush well after use, and let it dry thoroughly before storing. Make sure to store the brush away from the toilet to prevent bacterial contamination.

* Blood on the toothbrush. Gingivitis! Traces of blood in the brush are a sign of gingivitis. If left untreated, it can result in periodontitis and tooth extraction in the end.

– Recommendation. Brush and floss regularly, visit your dentist at least twice a year, and eat a balanced diet to keep the teeth strong and healthy.

When your toothbrush gives off these messages, better take heed. As your teeth’s BFF, it would want nothing but the best for your teeth and mouth. It would do everything to keep you healthy and strong with no expense.

Choosing the Right Toothbrush for your Teeth

How long did it actually take you to choose your last toothbrush? Did you choose it because it was the one recommended by your dentist in Costa Mesa or did you get it simply because you liked the color? We sure do hope it was the first one because color alone is not a logical reason when it comes to choosing a toothbrush.

But the sad fact is many people still fall prey to advertising gimmicks by toothbrush manufacturers causing them to go for design and color instead of ease of use. Similarly, many falls on the misconception that electric toothbrush is better than ordinary toothbrush. However, electric or not, both toothbrushes are designed to do one thing—to clean the teeth, although electric toothbrushes do the job much simpler.

So, how should you choose your toothbrush?

By and large, your dentist in Costa Mesa would recommend that you choose a toothbrush that has an ADA seal on the box. But aside from that, here are some tips for you on finding the best toothbrush for your teeth:

• Get a soft bristled toothbrush as they are more flexible than hard bristled brush. A soft toothbrush also causes minimal damage on the gums.

• Make sure the handle fits your hands comfortably.

• Choose a toothbrush that has a small head to make cleaning difficult areas much easier.

• Choose an easy-to-use brush, whether it is a powered or manual toothbrush

Now that you’ve carefully chosen the toothbrush best for your teeth, brushing would be fun and encouraging. But a good brush is not enough to keep your teeth and mouth healthy. Here’s how to get the most out of your brushing:

• Brush at least two times a day or every after meal.

• Don’t brush just the teeth; brush the tongue as well to scuff off bacteria.

• Replace your toothbrush every three months.

It’s not the same product

I’ve always been happy with Oral-B/Braun products until now. The brushes I purchased and used just simply don’t work as well as the originals. The bristles seem much softer and not as effective. On the package of four that I received it did say “Flexsoft EB-17-4″. Perhaps these are a different style and softer bristle. In any event be aware of the style that is being sold and know that the original type was a more firm bristle, and more effective.

Replacement toothbrush for Braun system

I’ve been using the Braun Oral-B toothbrush for almost ten years. After I learned that I need to run the battery down completely before recharging it, I find that they last several years. The last time I ordered a new one for + I wondered why I had to get a new charger, when it was just the brush that died. This time I found a replacement brush via Amazon–for including shipping. Worked perfectly, and I saved at least . Excellent value!!

Bought 2, one died after a few months…

I bought two of these, but one went intermittent within a month and finally just died. Cheaper than buying new, but they don’t last as long as they should…

Perfect!

Purchased as a replacement for a set I’ve had for 6-7 years. The charger tower is still working and in good shape; so this works perfect!

Braun Automatic toothbrush

This is the fifth one of these I have purchased. I would not be without one. Unfortunately, they seem to die in a couple years. This one makes a strange rattling noise even when brand new.

We have been very please with these tootbrushes. It has worked out well as we share the charger between the two brushes. We have never used any brushes like this in the past but decided to try them. The angled neck makes all areas easy to reach. I also appreciate the 30 second intervals so that I know when to move on to a new quadrant.

Great high-speed toothbrush

After many years of good service, our old sonicare toothbrush’s batteries finally gave out. I found the best price for the E 5500 on [...]. and ordered it. It is just great! At first, it tickles a bit since it is new and has lots of power, but this works even better than our old one did when we bought it new several years ago. I am impressed by all of its features and the price is really good since it comes with two brush heads. If you get a sonicare, it is a better deal when you buy one with two or three brush heads. You will not be disappointed!

Best Sonicare configuration for two people!

This is another one of the effective, durable line of power toothbrushes from Sonicare, which was the brand recommended by my dentist. The best reason to purchase this particular model is that it comes with two complete brushes and one charger for a reasonable price. Most couples don’t need two separate chargers in the master bathroom, and this configuration allows you to save a little money over the purchase of two complete brush/charger sets. Neither one of us needs the charger on the same day (each brush gets charged approximately one time per week, which takes about 18 hours for the full charge). 

As far as the performance of this product, it has been reliable for the past two years. The signal between “quadrants” of your mouth is just noticeable enough to tell you to move onto the next area. It really leaves your teeth and gums feeling clean and fresh. 

Brush head replacements are a little pricey, but easy to find on sale. If you join the Sonicare website, they send you e-mail coupons periodically for .00 off of a package. 

I highly recommend this configuration of the Sonicare!

Best toothbrush there is

I counldn’t be more pleased with this product. It does a great job cleaning your teeth and the timer is really helpful. My dentist told me that I was supposed to brush for two minutes and before I used this timer, I was thought I was covering everything and I was brushing for maybe 20 seconds. This definitely forces me to be more thorough. Now if only I had this product when I was a kid, maybe I wouldn’t have had so many cavities.

I am disappointed to see so many negative reviews because it is bankrupt vs the quality of the product but than a good warning about warranty is useful. 

This was a pretty good product when you adjusted to the correct method of using it. It did take me over a month but I still perfered spending 2 minutes bottom an 2 minutes on top. It provided a clean that I could not get with the other sonic toothbrush and I used both phillips and oralb. However it did nothing for gums in my opinion. After not flossing for a week and just using the ultreo… it did bleed when I flossed. In essence ultrasound is not a complete solution but a better one than what our sonic toothbrushes will do. Unfortunately with this out of the market… no improvements will be made which is quite disappointing for oral health.
