Replacement toothbrush for Braun system

I’ve been using the Braun Oral-B toothbrush for almost ten years. After I learned that I need to run the battery down completely before recharging it, I find that they last several years. The last time I ordered a new one for + I wondered why I had to get a new charger, when it was just the brush that died. This time I found a replacement brush via Amazon–for including shipping. Worked perfectly, and I saved at least . Excellent value!!

This is the fifth one of these I have purchased. I would not be without one. Unfortunately, they seem to die in a couple years. This one makes a strange rattling noise even when brand new.

OUT of BUSINESS but works well

I am disappointed to see so many negative reviews because it is bankrupt vs the quality of the product but than a good warning about warranty is useful.

This was a pretty good product when you adjusted to the correct method of using it. It did take me over a month but I still perfered spending 2 minutes bottom an 2 minutes on top. It provided a clean that I could not get with the other sonic toothbrush and I used both phillips and oralb. However it did nothing for gums in my opinion. After not flossing for a week and just using the ultreo… it did bleed when I flossed. In essence ultrasound is not a complete solution but a better one than what our sonic toothbrushes will do. Unfortunately with this out of the market… no improvements will be made which is quite disappointing for oral health.

Yes, a good brushing in much less time

This toothbrush really does let you get a thorough brushing in much less time, which is great for those of us who are chronically running late (or just impatient, or easily bored). It does take a little effort to figure out how to use it (maybe they should provide a link to a web video in their directions), but once you figure it out, it’s easy. I liked this better than the Oral-B, and *much* better than the sonic (which vibrated at a frequency that was just uncomfortable to me). And it’s certainly much faster! I think that’s a real key. Not only is it a timesaver, but also, some people are only going to brush a short time no matter what. In that case a short brushing with this is certainly going to do a more through job than a short brushing with anything else.

Since there are only two available brush lengths, and many different sizes of teeth in the world, it is possible that a given person may not get the optimal reach, but it’s fine for me, and apparently for many others. The real downside is the charging system, which is physically awkward, and has no auto shut-off to prevent over-charging. And you do want to keep it operating at close to full charge, so that’s a nuisance. (At lesser charge, it can seem underpowered, and when the charge gets really low, it quickly goes from operational to a dead stop without warning.) Supposedly the current shipping model has a better charging system (and possibly stronger motor?), so that one might be worthy of 5 stars.

I have used Sonic care and Braun and Hydrabrush.
I rate them based on getting between the teeth and cleaning the gum line because that is important and hard to do. One negative on the Hyrabrush is I don’t think it gets behind the vey back tooth so I get that manually. The Hydrabrush still does the best job for me.

a great toothbrush

This toothbrush was recommended to me by my dentist two years ago. I like it so much, my husband wanted one. He really is enjoying his. It brushes upper and lower teeth at the same time, and massages the gums too. I have less plaque and healthier gums now.

HydraBrush Toothbrush

I had this toothbrush on my wishlist, but the price was a bit prohibitive. When it came out on the gold box deal I grabbed it. I like the fact that it has a quicker brush time, and my teeth feel really clean when I finish brushing. I have found the brush head makes a great deal of difference. I liked the soft brushes that came with it but the plastic part kept hitting against my teeth, when I switched to the extra reach, also included, it was a much better fit for me.
Unlike other reviewers I haven’t had any trouble with the battery life, it lasts a couple of weeks for me. My only real complaint is that I have to be sure to brush before I do my make-up because I do find that this tooth brush is a bit messier than most.
All in all I would recommend this brush, just make sure you try different brush heads to get the true “fit” for you.

Great for kids!

I have tried every trick in the book to try and get my little boy to brush longer, harder, better, more often, etc. After having WAY too many cavities and being pretty much ready to give up the fight, I found the hydrabrush about 6 months ago and decided to make the investment. The thing is awesome! We just went for our checkup yesterday and the dentist was amazed at his improved brushing – and best news – NO CAVITIES!!! It only takes about 30 seconds (that is the most time he will spend) and it gets all teeth, top, bottom, back, front in that short amount of time. It really makes it easy and quick for kids. I highly recommend the hydrabrush!

This is the second Spiderman toothbrush we got. The first was from a national retailer and was supposed to have replaceable batteries but it stopped working after about a month of use. This toothbrush has better bristles two rotating heads and better stability to stand upright on its own. We have not replaced the battery yet but we think and hope that this toothbrush will last for quite awhile.

great for early brushers

I ordered three of these as a way to bridge between and normal toothbrush and a normal powered toothbrush, this one is a disposable battery type brush. Its much quieter, and thus less powerful, that a Braun powered brush and this, and the various styles it comes in, made it tolerable to my child who needs help with brushing his teeth. Note that toothpaste needs to be more or less pressed into the brushes since it will fling it off off it is layered on like a normal brush. We bought the three pack of these and hopefully when they are all worn out we can move up to one with a replaceable head. We have been using it for about two weeks with no sign of slowing down.

I have been using these for years now and love them. The heads feel great on my teeth and massages my gums pretty nicely. I still recommend to floss even when using these, but some days when you don’t feel like flossing, at least this helps a bit. They have wear indicators on them, and the Triumph will tell you when it’s time to replace them.

Beats buying a whole new electric toothbrush system…

I was skeptical about this item working with my 4 year old Oral B toothbrush charger and stand. Would a replacement fit, and was the charger broken and not that is was an original handset? WOW, the battery on the original handset was so bad my wife and I couldn’t both brush our teeth in the morning on a full charge. And because the mode of failure is so slow and happens over time, we thought it was normal that the 2nd person brushing in the morning running out of juice was normal- its not! The replacement head after fully charging had so much more power and agitation I wish we would have chucked the old unit a year ago. I also hear some people like to have a 2nd handset to keep in another bath or not have to change heads every time we brushed, but wife and I are used to the drill of removing our color head and charging handset without a toothbrush head on top.

After a lot of research on-line I realized that the battery life for a rechargeable handset was probably the problem and the way to go was figure out which mount would fit the recharger. Having an older unit the colors vary from the new models but basically the post that fits inside the handle is the same size for each manufacturer. Manufacturers don’t advertise this fact! I was ready to plop down for a whole new pretty charger stand and fancy packaging when I realized the handset was replaceable and it was just a matter of researching the brand I had.

That battery charger is pretty tough to break and rarely would it fail. My method was to look at pictures and brand name and one seller had the bottom picture to show the interface to the charger. Once I had the exact mfg model number I googled it and found the parts list. After seeing the mfg parts I knew it would fit and looked on eBay and Amazon for a seller.

Definitely save yourself the purchase price of a whole replacement system when the only wear part is the handset. As a side note, I am sold on the floss action replacement heads from Oral-B. Those babies make my dentist think I’m flossing and I am not!

I received the power handle in a clear plastic case with absolutely NO paperwork whatsoever, not even a shipping document which I thought was strange. I contacted the vendor and he said he offers a 90 day warranty and said it is shipped directly from Braun. I contaced Braun and they indicated that had it been purchased directly from Braun they provide a 1 year warranty on the handle. My only concern is that the original handle I replaced was dated Feb 2006 and this “new” replacement handle is dated 1 year earler …Jan 2005! So far it works fine, although one difference is that on my original handle, the “blue” light used to flash while charging and go solid when fully charged. When charging this replacement handle, the blue light stays on the whole time so I have to remember to unplug it about 18+ hours later as I only use the charger when it runs completely down.

Note: I’m giving this only 3 stars as I really feel there should have been some kind of billing paperwork as well as some note that indicates what the warranty is on the product. I also believe the vendor should be providing the same warranty period as Braun does if it’s shipped directly from Braun.

I had an Oral B 3D toothbrush that I had purchased 10 years ago. It came with two power handles, which my husband and I enjoyed. They both went bad within a week, and I was looking to replace them. A new toothbrush kit with charger and a single handle was about to 0+, depending on the model. I found two handles (these were two speed and my old ones were only single speed) for only about each. So we have two new electric toothbrushes for about a third of the cost of an entire kit, even with shipping. What a great deal!

My former power toothbrush was dying, I got this replacement unit for a super price –also an additional charger–, what else can be said. My former power toothbrush (same model) lasted for several years, I cannot even remember how many.

Why pay for a Charger when you have one?

My old Power Handle wore out after 5 years of superb service! This is a great replacement. Charged it put a toothbrush on it (from the old one) and it worked great!

I ordered the wrong handle, and not until after I received it did I notice that it is considered a “hygene” item and cannot be returned. So I have wasted .00. I just assumed that all Braun handles fit any Braun charging unit. Duh.

good deal-great product

I left my Braun power toothbrush on a cruise ship. I had the system for several years and didn’t want to pay for a new system. I still had the charger. This replacement was reasonably priced and it fit my old charger and spare heads. It works great and I received it it quickly from the vendor. I highly recommend this as a replacement or for an added unit for another family member.
I have been using the Braun for years and think it is a well made product does a superior job of cleaning your teeth.
It has a novel and proprietary charging system so if you don’t have the charger, this handle will not do you much good.

Excellent Replacement Handle

A couple of years ago Braun charged 0 for a new handle. Since then, they’ve apparently wised up. They now charge more for the brushes and less for the handles. That’s okay with me — I only replace the brush about once in 6 months, so the price doesn’t seem too bad. (I did some research on the Medline medical database about this — yes, you need to replace brushes, but not as often as Braun says.)

The handle is a bit bigger and heavier than the one it replaced and it’s bright blue instead of muted gray. It seems a little more powerful, and it feels different in the hand, but you get used to it quickly. (It’s the same height as the old one, it’s slightly wider, so it doesn’t fit the original travel case.)

Tip: to keep your handle clean and free of mold, rinse and DRY it after every use. Yes, it’s a pain, but otherwise you get little bits of black mold on the rubber part of your handle. That’s what did my old one in.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this product. Works great, came quickly, fair price.

Best toothbrush head ever

I did not believe people that this was the best toothbrush head ever, but I tried it myself after two different people recommended it to me. Wow, this toothbrush brush head is superior to my old Sonicare and for that matter any other Oral-B toothbrush head I tried.

I have never been a regular teeth flosser and am guilty of doing so just a few times a month. However, with the FlossAction brushhead, my dentist thinks I floss. I had to confess that it was the FlossAction toothbrush head and not difficult to use floss that was doing the trick.

I refuse to use a manual toothbrush anymore. When I go on vacation or for an overnight stay, I take my Oral-B and FlossAction toothbrush head with me. It is that good!
