Invisalign Invisible Braces a Breakthrough in Orthodontic Treatments

Do you require orthodontic treatment, but don’t want to subject yourself to unsightly metal braces then Invisalign may be a perfect treatment for you. Invisalign is a breakthrough in orthodontic treatments which completely eliminates the need to use metal wires and brackets.  Traditional metal braces unlike Invisalign are not very aesthetically pleasing, they are difficult to clean and their removal can be quite complicated. Fortunately Invisalign is the alternative to metal braces which offers the same orthodontic benefits AS metallic braces, though without being a cosmetic interference.

Invisalign is the perfect solution if you are an adult who requires orthodontic treatment or if your teeth have shifted since having traditional braces. Invisalign invisible braces help in correcting a broad range of dental and orthodontic issues, such as overly crowded teeth, crossbite, overbite, underbitre and widely spaced teeth. What makes Invisalign aligners unique is that they are completely translucent enabling the straightening of your teeth whilst being virtually undetectable. The Invisalign treatment involves the latest computerized technology and three-dimensional modeling to create a series of clear and transparent aligners. The series of custom-made Invisalign aligners are created in accordance with your specific oral situation, for the most effective results.

This Invisalign system is taking the dental world by storm, its revolutionary benefits have made it a popular treatment option for those needing orthodontic treatment.  The main benefit in using Invisalign invisible braces as an alternative to metal braces is that they are completely transparent, so no one can notice that you are straightening your teeth. Invisalign is also removable so you can still enjoy your favourite foods during treatment and smile without hesitation. Because there is no need for metal wires or brackets causing irritation, Invisalign is extremely comfortable. Your aligners will only exert mild pressure in desired areas and you wear each set of retainer for about two weeks. Invisalign’s removability, comfort and invisibility are worth considering when you are choosing an orthodontic treatment.

Clear Braces – Orthodontics

Clear Braces – Orthodontics

What is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a special field of dentistry that can correct misaligned teeth.  If your teeth are crooked, gappy or crowded a dentist that specialises in orthodontics using clear braces may be the way forward for you.

What Is An Orthodontist?
An orthodontist is a dentist with specialised training in orthodontics or braces.  An orthodontist should be registered with the GDC and regularly attend further training in orthodontic treatments such as clear braces or Inman Aligners.

What Types of Clear Braces Are There?

Types of braces available are:

v     Inman Aligner – removable invisible braces – a quick way of straightening front teeth

v     Clearstep – invisible braces – can move teeth a lot – good for mild crowding

How Much Will Clear Braces Cost?

The cost of clear braces starts at around £1500 for either the upper arch or the lower arch.  The orthodontist who specialises in clear braces or Inman Aligners will be able to advise you further.

Advantages of Orthodontics

Orthodontics can be non invasive.  Sometimes it may be necessary to remove teeth or drill healthy teeth. But you can still keep your natural teeth look.

Fixed Orthodontics

Traditional braces like metal braces or ‘train tracks’ are also great at moving teeth.  They can be quicker than clear braces.  They are also cheaper.

Where Should I Go For Orthodontic Treatment With Clear Braces?

Orthodontic treatment should only be carried out by an appropriately qualified cosmetic dentist or orthodontist who specialises in clear braces or Inman Aligners.

Orthodontics and Braces: Get Your Facts Straight

Orthodontics and Braces: Get Your Facts Straight

Have you ever seen anybody wearing braces? Perhaps you wore some yourself, or maybe you’re wearing some right now. They’re fantastic for straightening out teeth, but did you know that they are also the result of years of scientific research?

The field of study which revolves around the ‘bite’ (the way your teeth fit together when you close your mouth) is called orthodontics.

What is Orthodontics?

In a nutshell, the purpose of orthodontics (and orthodontists) is to correct any problems with the way your teeth are spread out and positioned in your mouth. If a person has teeth that are far apart, too close together or simply not straight, then a trip to the orthodontist can be a real lifesaver (metaphorically speaking).

Because the main aim of orthodontics is to correct the ‘posture’ of teeth, the treatment needs to be quite severe in that it must force the teeth into the correct position. This can be achieved through the use of a dental brace.

What are Orthodontic Braces?

There are many different types of braces available to patients, and your orthodontist will know which one will work best for you.

Some people only require temporary retainer type braces, which can be taken in and out at will, whilst others will need a fixed brace, which is a series of wires and with metal clamps cemented directly on to the teeth. A fixed brace can sometimes be attached to the reverse of teeth to minimize its visibility. In more serious cases of teeth misalignment, a head brace is sometimes used which requires a head-support in order to give the brace enough leverage to actually move the teeth.

Here’s a quick rundown of how braces work: the metal wire that runs across the front of the teeth is designed to exert pressure in certain places. Providing it is of sufficient strength, this pressure slowly but surely causes the teeth to move within the gum and jawbone. The reason patients wear a brace for so long is that this process of teeth movement can take a while. If you think about it, the teeth are anchored firmly into the jawbone; to get them to move permanently would take a constant pressure applied over a long period. This is exactly what a brace does. Braces normally need to be adjusted periodically to tighten the wires. This can cause some discomfort in the patient as the moving of teeth can cause (perhaps unsurprisingly) severe toothache.

Who Can Benefit from Orthodontics and Braces?

There is a common misconception that braces and orthodontists are within the realm of teenagers only, however there are literally millions of people of all ages that require orthodontic treatment every day. In fact, orthodontic treatment is often required following accidents that have caused a patient’s teeth to have shifted within the mouth.

What are the Benefits of Orthodontics and Braces?

Quite simply, a better looking, more functional set of teeth! Once moved to their final locations, the teeth will appear much straighter and be easier to maintain. This improvement boosts the confidence of the patient and also makes their life easier with regards to keeping the teeth clean and bacteria free. The patient will also find that their ‘bite’ is more comfortable, which should make things such as eating a lot easier! The long-term benefits with orthodontics are that the results will last. Once teeth have been shifted via the installation of a brace, they will usually remain in place for an indefinite amount of time (although this differs from person to person).

What are the Risks of Braces and Orthodontic Treatments?

The risks with regards to orthodontics and braces are actually rather minimal. The process of moving the teeth is done at such a slow pace that should any issues arise they can usually be addressed quickly. The most prevalent issue that brace wearers come across is the pain associated with having their braces tightened. This can’t really be called a risk, though, as it’s a part of the process. Usually analgesics help with pain management before it gets too intense; however in extreme cases of brace-related pain, the orthodontist can remove the brace entirely.

Braces and Orthodontics: The Bottom Line

Orthodontic treatment comes highly recommended to anyone who feels they may need it. Whether you’ve been in an accident and had some teeth knocked into a strange position, or you’re simply not happy with the way your teeth are sitting – having orthodontic treatment could very well be the answer you’re looking for.

Individual Dental Insurance Plan – Insurance for Dental Braces

Individual Dental Insurance Plan – Insurance for Dental Braces

The need for well grown teeth that would compliment a beautiful face is now widely perceived to be attainable through the use of dental braces. This is the reason why many children and even young adults have dental braces. With these need, insurance companies have now included dental braces as one item in their coverage to help families with the ever rising cost of dental braces because of its growing demand.

If you have an insurance policy already, try to examine the coverage. There are insurances that would tend to cover partially dental care but not to include dental braces. On the other hand, if you are still looking for an insurance coverage, and would need to have dental braces coverage as one of the more important aspect of your family’s coverage, you have to examine the offerings of the various types of insurance offered by insurance companies.

It is better to personally visit the office of the insurance company you are planning to get your insurance and inquire from them all that you would want to know about your dental braces coverage concerns. You have to tell them your concern if how many children do you have that might need dental braces and ask them if what type of insurance would be the best for your need.

You can also utilize the internet if you have a connection in your home. Visit the websites of the various insurance companies and study their offerings. There are insurance companies who include dental braces as part of their insurance coverage to a particular type of insurance. You can also find supplementary insurance purposely for dental braces. There are several types and forms of dental brace insurance coverage you can choose from the different sites of insurance companies.

Supplementary insurance for dental braces will be likely if you already have an existing insurance in place and have several children that might need dental braces. Considering the cost of dental brace, there have been several instances that parents would find themselves emptying their pockets of hard earned money to pay for the cost of dental braces that their insurance only partially paid for. Or worse, they would find to their consternation that their dental care coverage do not cover dental braces at all. These situations would be pretty troublesome for parents who would be hard put in looking for money to pay for the cost of dental braces and the corresponding dental service that goes with it.

One of the things that have lent popularity in having dental braces is the fact that it does reshape the face of a young person to become better to look at. A set of teeth that grows outwardly if left unchecked would result to a protruding mouth that is quite not good to look at. With dental braces, this can be corrected. This is why parents with children having signs of outward teeth growth are most likely to subject their children to dental braces.

In this respect, you would do well in getting an insurance that will cover dental braces or a supplemental insurance for it.

Clear Braces: Changing the Way You Experience Orthodontics

Clear Braces: Changing the Way You Experience Orthodontics

Most people long for a perfect smile. But adults and teenagers often cringe at the thought of incorporating metal braces on their teeth to correct orthodontic issues. Imperfect teeth are not only aesthetically unpleasing; teeth that are overcrowded or widely spaced and those with an underbite, overbite or crossbite can lead to serious issues, including:

·         Tooth decay

·         Cavities

·         Gum/periodontal disease

·         Jaw/joint pain

·         Bone loss

·         Speech difficulties

·         Oral health issues

·         Chewing difficulties

Now there is a way to straighten teeth through a series of “clear braces.” The Invisalign® orthodontic treatment uses a series of clear plastic aligners to secretly shift your teeth into alignment. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign clear braces are:

·         Virtually undetectable – most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them

·         Removable – for ease in eating, brushing and flossing

·         Comfortable – no wires or brackets

What makes the Invisalign treatment so effective?

Because every patient’s dental concerns are unique, the Invisalign process is customized from the very beginning of treatment. A trained, experienced cosmetic dentist will use a 3-D computer imaging technology to create a visual representation of the patient’s initial smile before treatment and then how the smile will begin to change during the process and ultimately to the final result. The patient is able to see just what his new smile will look like after the Invisalign treatment is completed.

From this computer imaging, the dentist will be able to create a series of aligners to achieve the desired results. Each aligner tray is worn for at least 22 hours per day for two weeks; most patients will require 18-30 trays. Through controlled, specially-timed force, the teeth gradually shift into place with each aligner tray. The aligner trays should only be removed while eating, brushing and flossing.

Is there anything a patient should avoid when using Invisalign?

Patients wearing Invisalign clear braces should not chew gum as the gum may become stuck to the aligners. In addition, patients are encouraged not to smoke while wearing the aligners as they can become stained. Aside from these two restrictions, Invisalign patients can remove the aligners to eat and drink normally. Patients should brush their teeth after meals before reinserting the aligners.

How much does Invisalign cost?

As with any orthodontic procedure, the cost of Invisalign varies from patient to patient depending upon the complexity of your situation. Generally Invisalign treatment can cost approximately ,500-,000, which is comparable to traditional metal braces.

More than 500,000 patients have used Invisalign to improve their smiles. If you would like more information about this revolutionary orthodontic treatment, please visit the website of Dr. Norman Huefner D.D.S. at Sensational Smiles. Dr. Huefner has been providing his patients in Orange County, California with beautiful, healthy smiles since 1980.

How to Save Money on Orthodontic Braces & Cosmetic Dentistry

How to Save Money on Orthodontic Braces & Cosmetic Dentistry

It’s finally happened. The moment that you’ve been worrying about for so long. Your daughter is growing up and it’s become clear that she needs braces. When you weren’t looking, she has developed the tell tale overbite. While it may not have mattered to her as much a few years ago, it does now because she’s a lot more concerned about her appearance than she was then. However, the thought of getting braces is nothing short of terrifying to both her and to your wallet! With the right dental plan and the right orthodontist, you both can rest assured that your needs will be met, without breaking your budget too badly.

The cosmetic dentistry field is one of the most heavily used areas of dental care today. People are coming in with all types of crooked and misshapen teeth and having a complete “smile” makeover performed, as they are so fondly referred to. This will not only improve their personal appearance, but also boost their self esteem at the same time.

The only problem with this scenario above is the cost of having anything cosmetic done to your teeth. Dental insurance simply will not cover any type of cosmetic dentistry, unless it’s a special case where the procedure to be performed is deemed to be necessary in order to return the persons appearance back to the way it was after an accident. The accident must be provided for within your insurance policy.

Another option that you have for saving money on orthodontics treatment is called a discount dental plan. These plans are not like insurance policies, so you can be seen for an existing condition. Discount dental plans offer substantial savings on braces and other orthodonic dental care. Some discount plans even offer big savings on cosmetic dentistry!

If you or one of your family members are in need of braces or need to see an orthodontist for any other reason, you should take a good look at what discount dental plans have to offer. If dental insurance won’t cover it and you’re going to be forced to pay 100% of the costs out of your own pocket, you’ve got nothing to lose, except maybe a few hundred (or thousand) dollars by not checking into it? So what are you waiting for?

Braces- What To Expect From Your Orthodontic Treatment

Braces- What To Expect From Your Orthodontic Treatment

Thinking about getting braces? Scheduled to get braces in the near future? Whether you have already met with your Baltimore orthodontist or you need help deciding which orthodontic method would best suit your dental needs, you probably have a few questions or concerns regarding the process of this orthodontic treatment.

Once you understand what to expect from your treatment as well as how to properly care for your teeth, you can reduce any misgivings or uncertainties you have about the procedure. If you have questions about your braces, always consult with your experienced orthodontist in Baltimore for expert guidance.

Will Braces Hurt?

One of the most commonly asked questions patients ask before undergoing orthodontic treatment is, “Will braces hurt?” Each individual will respond differently to braces, but it’s important to talk to your orthodontist about options for minimizing discomfort. When it comes down to it, the benefits of braces far outweigh the discomfort that may be experienced.

When you first get your braces or after receiving adjustments, your mouth may be sore. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help alleviate the pain as needed. Fortunately, most braces today are made smaller and less bulky meaning treatment should be more comfortable and discreet than traditional braces. Your orthodontist can work with you to provide the most pain free experience possible.

Caring for Braces

After application of your braces, your Baltimore orthodontist will make sure you are prepared and equipped to take special care of your teeth, gums and braces. Brushing and flossing are more important than ever for patients with braces, so you’ll want to make sure you have the proper cleaning aids to help you maintain good dental health.

You’ll also want to avoid certain foods while undergoing your treatment, including popcorn, nuts, ice, hard candies, corn on the cob, gum and other sticky candies. Chewy and hard foods can damage the braces and loosen bands. The more you abide by this rule, the fewer disruptions you’ll experience throughout the treatment- and that means achieving your new, beautiful smile on schedule!

Exceptional Dental Care

Food particles and plaque are easily trapped in the tiny spaces between wires and brackets which lead to tooth decay and enamel staining. Brushing and flossing become even more important when you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. If possible, brush your teeth after every meal to remove trapped debris, and floss at least once a day with special orthodontic floss. And if you don’t have your toothbrush with you, rinse your mouth with water to cleanse your braces of food debris.

Your orthodontist can demonstrate the proper methods for cleaning and caring for your teeth during your braces treatment. Ask about special cleaning devices that make cleaning around your wires easier and more efficient.

If your appointment to have your braces in Baltimore placed is approaching, hopefully you feel more at ease about the treatment. And if you haven’t yet made an appointment with an orthodontist, consider consulting with one first. He can help you determine if braces are the best method for correcting your teeth. Invisalign and other orthodontic devices may be viable alternatives for achieving a beautiful, straighter smile.

Sean Hartmen writes for Dr. Stanley Markovitz, a childrens orthodontist and Invisalign dentist in Baltimore. This Baltimore Invisalign dentist is one of the most experienced Invisalign providers for both adults and teenagers, maintaining elite status since Invisaligns inception.

Traditional Orthodontic Braces Vs Invisible Braces, The Invisalign

Traditional Orthodontic Braces Vs Invisible Braces, The Invisalign

Traditional Orthodontic Braces

Dental braces or orthodontic braces are a tool used to align teeth position with regard to a person’s bite. They often come with brackets and wire fixed to teeth to make them straight and also used to correct the under-bites, overbites, cross bite and open bites or crooked teeth which are called malocclusion ( mal-uh-kloo-zhun), a word that comes from Latin and means “bad bite.” Malocclusion is a word that dentists use to describe the shape of your mouth. So, by applying braces, the condition of your mouth and jaws are now reshaped. The braces with brackets and wire is now a trend for young people who normally have non-aligned teeth position.

Invisalign?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners used to straighten teeth. Ask your orthodontist about them. It is also called invisible braces, inside braces, lingual braces or ibraces. The Invisalign aligners are clear and hardly visible to others compared to metal orthodontic braces with brackets and wires. The Invisalign aligners are made after the orthodontist takes impressions of your teeth and send them to dental lab and make a unit of clear aligners according to your teeth alignment using computer. When ready, the first set of clear aligners will be fixed to your teeth. With the orthodontist guidance, you will move to the next set of clear aligners within a couple of weeks. For info, the number of Invisalign aligners sets will depend on the individual dental condition and the orthodontic problems. So, be ready to see your orthodontist regularly and set aside some budgets too.

The Invisable aligners are generally fairly comfortable unlike the normal metal orthodontic braces, with no brackets to come off or wires to break and poke. However, Invisalign is only perfect to adults, not the teenagers and only suitable for certain tooth movements. Just let your orthodontist give an opinion whether you are the right candidate for traditional orthodontic braces or the Invisalign.

Orthodontic treatment is able to fix the dental position even at the young age, to improve your appearance, your smile and to make you look beautiful; with normal or invisible braces. You can see the difference on your appearance before and after braces. Braces can improve your health by being able to chew your food better, being able to avoid dental problems and being able to avoid breathing problems.
