Saving On Dental Bills With Discounted Dental Plans

Saving On Dental Bills With Discounted Dental Plans

Statistics report that over half of the population of the United States is not covered by dental insurance or some type of dental plan. The statistics go to show that not everyone is taking advantage of the enormous savings that result from dental plans. And in a world of lower and middle class domination, perhaps more should indeed pay more attention to the benefits of dental plans.

Dental Insurance Vs Non-Insurance Dental Plans

Typically there are two categories of dental plans: those that are typical insurance plans, and those that aren’t. As dentists have come to find, there is a better favor for the non-insurance counterparts, since there is less paperwork involved.

Insurance plans are commonly restricted in what they pay, how they pay, and for what reasons they pay. Insurance plans also demand that those taking advantage of the cost cuts must pay deductibles. These deductibles, which are usually a fixed rate, help the insurance company’s hold onto their money and discourage any gaming of the system.

On the other hand, non-insurance dental plans are much easier to work with. They, on average, cut around one third of the total cost. There is little to no paperwork to fill out, and best of all, there is not deductible to pay. Dentists prefer this method just as much as patients do, due to the large cut in paperwork.

The only drawback to non-insurance dental plans is that they are only present in participating dentist offices. For this reason, you’ll be hard pressed to find a dentist at random who participates in non-insurance dental plans. This is compared to insurance dental plans, which should be taken virtually everywhere there is a dentist’s office.

Smart Choices in Dental Plan Shopping

If you’re looking to purchase a dental plan, be sure to shop around. The majority of those who do have dental insurance tend to spend more than they should. To avoid this, there are a few tips that can get patients by with spending less money both on dental insurance and dental bills.

After ensuring that you have looked at several different plans, and have found the best cost saving option, there is a little verification work to be done. First ensure that the dental plan being offered is guaranteed- meaning that the insurance company won’t reverse a decision for menial reasons. Also get a quote on around how much one would save on a specific procedure and ask about the deductible that insurance companies demand patients pay.

Also be aware of dental plans that are offered from foreign sources (usually outside of one’s own state). These plans may indeed be legit, but there is slightly more risk that is run as a result of the distance. Don’t let a good dental plan get away because the provider is located in another state, however but be cautious nonetheless.

Final Thoughts on Dental Insurance

Dental insurance, families will find, can save a large amount of money over the course of a few years. The money saved in high-cost operations and checkups is more than worth the fees paid. But to ensure the best plan, follow the fore mentioned steps to make sure you’re making money in the long run- not losing it.

After all, you buy a dental insurance plan to save money, not spend it.

Dentist Practice Management Seminar: the 2008 Dentist Profits Super Conference

Dentist Practice Management Seminar: the 2008 Dentist Profits Super Conference

This is Ed O’ Keefe, president of Dentist Profits, and I’m personally sending you an invitation to our dentist practice management seminar “The 2008 Dentist Profits Super Conference”, which is one of our Gold Inner Circle Mastermind Trainings. This dentist practice management seminar is coming up really quickly, and we have over 460 people registered, and I want to make sure that you have an opportunity to really get a full scope of what’s really going on and what you can take advantage of! We want to help you to get on top of your dental practice the most efficient way there is…. and this is something we focus specifically at our dentist practice management website!

Now, a couple of things to remember. One is at this dentist practice management seminar, we focus on a bunch of things. One of the key things are how to really get a patient “explosion” to make the next 12 months your best 12 months, of getting new patients in your door, getting higher quality new patients, and really why so many of my clients prosper and making more many than ever (even in economic recession, gas prices are as high as can be, and with so many crazy things going on)! These clients are really making money. And so the reason is that they’re dentists just like you, but the difference is they have the marketing system that is on “auto-pilot” that they have going up every single month, like clock work uninterrupted. So that’s one of the big concepts that are going on.

The second thing that’s very, very critical that we focus at on this dentist practice management seminar is we have 4 different staff training sessions that aren’t just about traditional, clinical training. This is about how you can get your staff to help you make more money and really create a “ATM cash printing machine” as your dental practice; but without your team on board, you are always going to be kind of floundering and questioning and wondering if you can ever get to the next level with your existing team. The first aspect of that is to get them trained. Put them in an environment where there are other successful practices and other motivated staffs. There are doctors in my group that are getting these teams fired up and get them working on a monthly basis every single month!

The third thing in this dentist practice management seminar is that this is really a good time to re-focus on the next 12 months and hear from some of the best entrepreneurs and speakers in the world. We have Brian Tracy who is one of the world’s best-selling authors on business and success; he’s written the book ” The Psychology of Achievement” and another book called “21 Secrets To Becoming A Millionaire”. And we have Jay Geier, who is really well-known in the dental profession, and he’s the president of the Scheduling Institute, and he’s going to be talking about how you can add 10 to 13 new patients a month without spending in any more advertising or marketing. Jay is literally one of the best presenters and speakers in dentistry and I’ve seen him in other environments as well. He’s going to show you how to clog up the bucket, the hole in the bucket that patients are falling out of and money is falling out of, because you aren’t using his secrets. Next is you’re going to hear from one of my very good friends and partners, Wendy Briggs, who is the president of Hygiene Diamonds. She is nationally recognized as the top hygiene consultant and she really shows offices a couple of things: one is how to double or triple your hygiene department profits; and how to take the existing hygienists you have and get them producing two to three times more in as little as 45-60 days! These are just some of the steps she’ll be showing on the weekend of the Super Conference, and your staff can literally go back on Monday morning and start implementing right away! So she’ll be doing that, and she’ll also be doing a breakout session with assistants and your hygienists in how to create a flawless, new patient experience to get new patients to convert more often. She and I will also be doing a session with all the doctors on how to get team case acceptance and sales mastery, a system within your practice so that you’ll increase your conversion ratios without you personally having to do a lot more work, let your staff do these lots of work, and let it work for you in the process.

The last thing is in this dentist practice management seminar we’ll have other speakers that are going to be there, and I invite you to check out the full letter and some of the highlight videos that we will be sending you to find out more to see if this is fit for you. And we’ll also have my director in marketing Darcy Juarez doing the whole marketing “A through Z” training specifically for your marketing assistants and/or anybody in your office who’s going to be handling the marketing, and the reason why this is really important is because with so much stuff that is going on, the last thing you need is another thing in your plate to be doing on a daily basis. What we’re trying to do at Dentist Profits and in our coaching clubs is to get our doctors to think more like entrepreneurs and more like business owners, so that you have people doing work for you and we call this the “ultimate leverage ability strategy”, which is for everything that you’re learning, you instantly put it in a system so that it leverages your time and not monopolize it and take more of it. We want you to have more time with your family, making more money, and enjoying the life of your dreams!

So that’s what we’re all about, that’s what this dentist practice management seminar is going to include and I really want to invite you, and if this is one of those years that you really want your practice to take you to the next level, or if you’re having a year that you’re kind of floundering at and not going up, or where you’re having a year where you are struggling, we have answers for all of those problems. We’ve seen it and I’ve seen it all; we have coached over 5,600 dental offices throughout the world and there’s not a problem now that we haven’t seen, faced, looked straight in the eye and solved! So I want to welcome you to go ahead, register for the event, give us a call, bring your staff, bring your self, bring your spouse… it doesn’t matter! And we’ll make it a great event for you and I promise you that you will experience nothing like it anywhere else. I look forward to meeting you in person and changing your practice life and your economic life forever!

Dental Plans: the Essentials

Dental Plans: the Essentials

Sadly, according to the American Dental Association(ADA), more than 108 million Americans are currently living without some form of dental care coverage, and most people that do have some form of dental insurance can only afford it because it was offered by their employer. So what does a person do if they are unemployed, between jobs, or are employed by an employer who doesn’t offer dental insurance benefits? My suggestion would be to look into discount dental plans.

Why discount dental plans? Because discount dental plans are void of many of the problems with traditional dental insurance.

Traditional dental insurance plans feature many drawbacks, including: costly deductibles, tedious claim forms, long waiting periods and other limitations. Furthermore, many dental insurance policies enforce annual maximums regardless of coverage necessity. Some people are even denied care entirely due to pre-existing conditions. In short, dental insurance can be ugly. What’s even uglier is that unless provided by an employer, dental insurance is virtually unaffordable for the average person.

Luckily, there is an alternative.

You guessed it, a discount dental plan. Discount dental plans are not only affordable, but they are free of paperwork hassles and costly deductibles. With discount dental plans, there are no annual limits or costly monthly premiums, and members can enjoy discounts on almost any dental procedure all year long. Health restrictions? Throw those out the window. Discount dental plans are available to everyone regardless of pre-existing conditions. Still want to get that cosmetic dentistry done? With a discount dental plan, you most likely can. Orthodontics too? You bet. Best of all, discount dental plans are extremely affordable, and available to individuals, families, and groups. Discount dental plans even extend care to include: braces, crowns, root canals, dentures, cosmetic dentistry, and more on select plans.

There is simply no way to compare costly and restrictive traditional dental insurance with low-cost, inclusive discount dental plans. We all know how important dental care is to our daily lives, so we deserve the best at the lowest price. This is clearly discount dental plans in my opinion.

I highly encourage you to take a look at your current coverage and determine whether a dental discount plan is a better fit for you – I think you’ll find that it is.

Practice Good Oral Hygiene for Whiter Teeth

Practice Good Oral Hygiene for Whiter Teeth

In today’s world, having a nice pretty smile with white teeth, seems to be of utmost importance.  Most people will take extreme, painful measures for whiter teeth.  Cosmetic dentistry can be costly, provide adequate whiteness to the teeth but often only short term.  To supplement and help maintain the pearly whites, many dollars are spent for over the counter teeth whitening applications.

Exactly how does a person go about having the whitest teeth?  Do you go to the best cosmetic dentist and have one of the costly, sometimes painful procedures?  Do you purchase a different type of over the counter teeth-whitening compound for every day of the week?  Do you apply one type of procedure in the morning and another for nighttime?  Just what is a person to do to get whiter teeth?

Well, let us see.  There is over the counter bleach you can apply to your teeth.  In addition, there are trays you can wear that promises whiter teeth.  Then there are strips that you can apply.  These teeth whitening strips can be very versatile to use.  There are strips that dissolve in a few minutes or strips that you wear over night.  Let us not forget the rinses that you can swish around your mouth then spit out.  The list of over the counter teeth whitening applications is long with much variety.  The number of different your dentist can use to help you obtain whiter teeth are vast and easily available.  There is a procedure and a price for almost anyone on most budgets.  In other words, whiter teeth can be yours for a price, however, the price might include pain and food sacrifices to obtain the best results.

Will any of these measures really give you whiter teeth?  Possibly, highly probable, if, and I did say if, your mouth is healthy to start with.  Start with the things you can do and change.  Good oral hygiene is a must for good health and essential for whiter teeth.  Eat right, drink plenty of fluids, and be sure to get enough dairy calcium.  It is not just an old wives tale, “drink your milk” you need it for your teeth.  Of course if you are unhealthy, have certain diseases or conditions, whiter teeth will be extremely hard to achieve.  Chemotherapy, certain medications like tetracycline, iron, can turn teeth dark, sometimes brown, dark yellow or almost black.  Unfortunately, there is little to be done in these instances except take care of your mouth and your health.

Good Oral Hygiene for whiter teeth can be accomplished in absence of above by practicing just that, good oral hygiene.  Far too many people are naive in thinking that daily brushing is all that is needed for good oral hygiene.  Daily brushing is the absolute minimum you can do for good oral hygiene.  Brushing after each meal, especially before you go to bed is important for oral health and whiter teeth.  Daily flossing, especially after eating is necessary.  Eating healthy, drinking your milk, and consuming fluoride treated water certainly helps with oral hygiene and please see your dentist regularly for checkups.   Other things can help too; for instance, avoid highly sugared foods, sticky foods, and using a mouthwash.  If you are somewhere you cannot brush, at the very least, rinse your mouth out with water.

Remember good oral hygiene is a precursor for whiter teeth.  It is hard to have whiter teeth without good hygiene practices.  Regardless of the other teeth whitening measures you take, whether it be the over the counter applications or cosmetic dentistry, you have to start with good teeth and gums.  Take care of your mouth; your smile is one of the first things people will notice.

Teeth: Modern Ways to Achieve the Perfect Smile

Teeth: Modern Ways to Achieve the Perfect Smile

Everyone desires to have a great smile. For a killer smile, one should have sparkling, bright, and shiny teeth.

Today, a lot of people are spending more money just to have their teeth whiter. They make use of the best teeth whitening treatments and undergo procedures to achieve the brilliant white teeth.

Teeth whitening had been an effective procedure to lighten the color of the teeth, without taking away any of the tooth surface. It will not completely whiten the whole set of teeth; it will just lighten the existing color of the teeth.

Only a few are blessed with pearly white teeth, and our teeth normally become discolored as we grow up.

Our teeth can also be stained on the outer part because of the food and drink. Coffee, tea, blackcurrant and red wine have effect on the discoloration of our teeth. Smoking is another cause of teeth discoloration. Most people may encounter staining beneath the surface which is caused by tiny cracks in the teeth or certain antibiotics that absorb the stains.

But what are these teeth whitening treatments and procedures? And are these done?

Bleaching. This is most common form of teeth whitening procedure. Your dentist will advice you if this is the best teeth whitening treatment suitable for you.

Bleaching is done by placing a gel or rubber to shield the soft tissue of your gums. Then, the whitening product will be applied on your teeth by using a special tray which shapes into your mouth like a gum shell.

The teeth whitening product usually contains carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide as the ‘active ingredients’. When these ingredients break down, the oxygen enters the enamel of your teeth thus, making the color lighter. The entire treatment can be completed in three to four weeks time.

For those who wish to undergo to this treatment, you will need at least three visits to the dentist. On your first visit, the dentist will create a mouth-guard and take a caricature or impressions of it. Once the treatment has started, it is recommended that you continue it at home. You have to regularly apply the teeth whitening product over four weeks, for at least 30 minutes at a time.

Most of the known and best teeth whitening products can be applied for up to several hours at a time. The treatment can be done even while you’re sleeping. Ideally, a good result can be attained in as little as one week.

Laser Whitening. This is also called the “power whitening”. Though expensive, a lot of people especially artists consider it as the best teeth whitening method.

During this process, a rubber dam is placed over your teeth to shield the gums, and the whitening product is then painted on your teeth. A laser will be used to stimulate the chemical. The light will help boost the chemical reaction of the bleaching product, thus the color change can be attained more rapidly.

Dentists believe that the result of laser whitening treatment is good. It can make your teeth up to six shades lighter.

Unfortunately, not everyone can get a chance to undergo laser treatment. The dentist will have to check your teeth and ensure that you are fit for the treatment. The total procedure is usually done in an hour.

The effects of this power whitening is said to last up to three years depending on the person. The dentist still advice not to smoke, eat and drink products that may cause a stain in your teeth. Others may find their teeth vulnerable to cold after the treatment. But these symptoms usually vanish within a few days.

These are just two of the famous and best teeth whitening methods available. Despite the fact that they may cost a lot, the effect is still worth it. Through these methods, you’ll surely flash everyone a perfect smile.

The Best Dental Plans for the Entire Family

The Best Dental Plans for the Entire Family

It’s definitely a necessity to maintain good health and well-being within the family. After all, you can’t afford to be sick, considering that there are still many bills to pay. That’s why it’s a prerogative for moms and dads to secure health plans not only for themselves but also for their children.

One of the plans can be dental plans. Proper care of the teeth and gums has been taken for granted by a lot of family these days. Normally, parents thought that tooth decay will just be a passing problem in their children. Soon old decayed teeth will simply fall, and new ones will come out. Fathers and mothers too are no longer keeping track of the health of their gums. Thus, there are less people who are flocking dental clinics for their monthly or regular checkups. But do you know that they have profound effect to your general health? Unknown to you, perhaps, the bacteria that cause them can also damage your heart and important veins in your body. They can actually precede the development of coronary heart disease.

Going against Dental Insurance

Probably your first thought will be to get your family a dental insurance. You must then know that they don’t come cheap these days. In fact, they can drain whatever money you may have left in your bank. After all, there are premiums that you have to shoulder. The benefits that you’re going to enjoy will also be highly dependent on the coverage that you’ve chosen. Worse, if you don’t pay, there’s a huge possibility that your insurance will be cut off, and you have to content yourself with paying the dental bills on your own.

There are also a lesser number of employers who grant their employees with medical insurance. In fact, there are around 70% Americans who don’t have any dental insurance at all. If they do, the coverage will never be enough to meet their needs. They can’t use the insurance for any orthodontic treatment, and if there are pre-existing conditions, they won’t also get to enjoy the privilege.

Family Dental Plans Are the Right Choice

You can actually get your family the kind of dental benefit you’ve always dreamed of while spending less through family dental plans. These are very affordable and are excellent substitutes to dental insurance. You can even save as much as 25% when you’re talking about special dental treatments, such as oral surgery, and periodontics. For oral examinations, you can keep almost 80% of your money. There is also no limit on the kind of dental procedure that you can do. It doesn’t matter if you’re going to have your teeth holes filled or attach dentures. You can cut down your expenses to 60%.

There are also different types of family dental plans that you can avail. For example, you can have a dental plan that will supplement whatever medical or dental insurance that is being provided by your company. This means that you can have the freedom to choose the types of oral examination and surgery that you want. Thus, you may settle for those that are not covered by your present dental insurance. You also have the chance to pick your own dentists, as long as they can accept payments from your dental plans. On top of these, because these plans are not meant to be insurance policies, you don’t have to pay any premium or fill out claim forms. There is also no annual limit.

Applying for a dental plan is also no hassle as there will be no paperwork. This means that moms and dads don’t have to burden themselves of going to any company even if they already have busy schedules. There will be no limits when it comes to dental visits too. Hence, the entire family can go for their regular checkup the entire year and not worry about spending too much for them.

If you need to look for the right dental plan for your family, you can always scour for them in your area. You may also check out the National Association of Dental Plans. Certainly, they have a list of dentists that you can go to. Also, you may check the Internet. There are already several online companies that are offering dental plans for the family.

Ken Nakamura is the editor of dentalplans123.com, a site dedicated to helping consumers to save 10-60% on their dental care in 24 hours. Dental Plans are better alternative to dental insurance given the ease of becoming a member. There is not health restrictions on joining a dental plan. 3 Essential Tips to Help You Find the Best Dentist

3 Essential Tips to Help You Find the Best Dentist

Like any other kind of treatment, dental or orthodontic treatment needs to have well-experienced specialists who can serve and assist patients with their needs. There are 3 things that a person should consider if he or she wants a dentist who will be able to do the best job possible throughout the treatment:

First tip is that you should know what to look for a dentist – this should be done even before an emergency happens; there are different things that you have to consider when it comes to finding the best dentist, such as location, professional qualifications, personal comfort, cost and emergency care. It is very important to choose a dentist that will be located near your place or location. Through this, it will be easier to go to the clinic as well as to schedule a consistent visit with your orthodontist.

It is also important to consider the cost of the treatment; try to ask first if there are different types of payment that are accepted by the clinic – either plans, credit cards, etc. Insurance should also be considered so that you will be able to know if you can use the insurance that you have. It is also helpful if you will estimate the costs of regular procedures so that you will be able to have an idea if you can save money.

Next will be about the relationship between the patient and the dentist – this is very important since you will be consulting with the orthodontist every now and then. It is very significant to have a comfortable relationship with your dentist so that it will be easy for you to ask questions regarding your treatments. It will not be hard for a patient to tell and express whatever that he/she feels about anything that concerns this orthodontic cure.

Professional qualifications are another factor to consider – you have to know the training as well as the guidance of this dentist’s clinic. It is noteworthy to ask different things first about the policies or guidelines when it comes to different aspects of orthodontic treatment – this is to ensure the patient’s safety.

When it comes to emergencies, one should always remember that a dentist must be easy to reach and accessible at any time. We never know when an urgent situation will will happen so it is best to have a contact number with the orthodontist.

Second tip, is about how to find a dentist through asking some people you know. It is very helpful if you will ask opinions from some family members or friends because they will be able to give you information about their dentists or someone they know. You can also ask your previous dentist or even a doctor since they may know someone that they can recommend to you. Calling some hospitals, insurance company (dental), dental association or even a dental school will also help you a lot. They have information about some reliable and well-qualified dentists in your area.

Third and last tip is taking dental schools into consideration – you will be able to search for highly-qualified dentists through the schools were they took up their trainings. These schools from different states can provide you an idea of who is the best in this practice.

Advantages Manual and Electric Toothbrushes Are Not All Too Different

Advantages Manual and Electric Toothbrushes Are Not All Too Different

I have an electric toothbrush. I like it. But when I travel I take my regular toothbrush. With both I make sure I do a good job of brushing my teeth. I want to make sure I do not have any problem with my teeth and I do not want to get in trouble with my hygienist. Some of the advantages manual and electric toothbrushes have might help you decide which one to choose.

Of course a manual toothbrush is less expensive than an electric toothbrush. So if money is an issue you might want to simply brush the old fashioned way. As I said I use my manual toothbrush when I travel because it is simply easier.

But you can take you electric toothbrush even without the charger if you charge it before leaving on your trip and you are back before it needs charging. Of course you can always pack your charger with you if you are going to be gone an extended period of time.

I have learned the most important part of brushing is not so much the type of tooth brush you use but that you use the tooth brush you have. Some might think that if they have an electric tooth brush then they do not have to brush as often. This is not true. You still need to brush after each meal and in the morning and before bedtime.

However, I do like that I can stimulate my gums with my electric toothbrush. I can do this with a manual toothbrush of course but it seems like I can get more action with the electric brush. Gum stimulation is good because it gets the blood flowing in your gums. A manual toothbrush is helpful as far as how much pressure you put on your gums.

I have read that if you apply too much pressure as you brush your teeth you might wear down the enamel. Enamel prevents tooth decay and as you try to fight cavities you might hasten it by putting too much pressure which wears down the enamel. With a manual tooth brush you are in more control of the pressure you place on your teeth verses an electric tooth brush.

When you are training your children on how to use a toothbrush you probably want to start with a manual toothbrush until they are old enough to know how to handle an electric toothbrush. No matter which toothbrush you use you want to make sure floss regularly.

My dentist used to have a sign up on his waiting room wall that read you do not have to floss all of your teeth only the ones you want to keep. And I have also read that you do not want to brush immediately after drinking regular or diet soda. The chemicals from the soda will wear down the enamel in your teeth when you take a brush to them. Tooth care is a very important part of overall health. Whichever brush you choose make sure to use it.

Keeping Children’s Teeth Healthy

Copyright (c) 2008 Peter Gallacher

Latest research has revealed lots of parents are failing to brush their little ones teeth correctly. Dr Hap Gill, himself a dentist, took time out from his schedule to talk to us. First off, he gave us his one stop guide of everything to do with teeth and he answered some of our listener questions.

When does the first tooth develop?

The age at which the first tooth appears differs from child to child. The complete set of 20 primary teeth (baby teeth) is usually present by the age of two-and-a-half years. The first permanent teeth appear at around six years of age. Myths about teething – Many things have been attributed to teething: rashes, crying, bad temper, runny noses, extra dirty nappies, etc. None of this can be proven, particularly as so many other things that might influence behaviour are happening in the child’s life at the same time. The important thing is not to use teething to explain away what might be the signs of illness.

What can you do when your child is teething?

Some teeth come through with no trouble at all; in other cases, the gum may be sore and red where the tooth is pushing its way out. A child may dribble, gnaw and chew a lot or just be fretful, but it is difficult to tell if this is really due to teething.

Top Tips

Start brushing as soon as teeth appear. Brush thoroughly twice a day (just before bed is important). Help your child brush until they are able to do it well by themselves – usually around the age of seven. Use a fluoride toothpaste and encourage your child to spit after brushing; do not rinse afterwards as this reduces the benefits of the fluoride in the toothpaste. Use a tiny smear of toothpaste for babies and a pea-sized amount for children. Young children will swallow the toothpaste; use a children’s toothpaste with reduced fluoride until they are able to spit well. Visit a dentist regularly to get your child used to the surgery. Dr Gill also told us that adult toothpastes should never be used to clean youngsters teeth under the age of six.

The minute you see a tooth you need to get some fluoride toothpaste on it. It normally happens at about six months. Use a tiny smear of toothpaste on your finger and rub it onto the tooth. The flouride strengthens the tooth. You mustn’t use an adult toothpaste before the age of six years old. The adult toothpaste has too much flouride and when babies are very young they don’t know how to spit out properly. You can overdose on flouride and it can effect the way the other teeth form and look. If they’ve got too much flouride they can come through with orange or brown on them.

So, when should we be thinking of taking our little ones to visit the dentist?

I like to see young babies the sooner the better. Sometimes they come along with Mum and they bring them along every six months. It gets them used to where they are and the noise and smell. Usually I try and have a look when they’re about two – two and a half.

What tips do you have for cleaning our tots teeth more fun and enjoyable.?

A great idea is a Musical timer it’s like a little timer that children can listen to as they brush their teeth, you can also get musical toothbrushes as well. I always try and encourage brushing with a puppet, he has a great big mouth and I brush the puppets teeth with the toothbrush and I get the children involved.

I like it

There are lots of choices, but I narrowed it down to this one, after years of using another one. Thought the last one was great, but now I have the Waterpik Sensonic and I love it. Even forgot the name of the one I thought was so great before. The Waterpik Sensonic really does the job. Also bought the actual Waterpik, and am now using them both. Life is good with these two products. Recommended, to say the least.

Impressed

It took a few uses before I got the hang of it, now I have become a fan of Sensonic brushing. It leaves your teeth with a really clean feel. It makes me more conscious of how well I’m brushing my teeth, and how long I brush them.

Teeth And Brush Slippery Clean

I have used the Waterpik Sensonic brand for 30 years or so. Very reliable brand. The sonic effect while brushing is very good and my teeth feel very
clean and shiny. My problem, as with almost everything else, they have ‘over-teched’ it. There is a timer that interrupts the power to tell you to ‘move
on’ to another area in your mouth. It is always too soon or too late for my preference. I think I know how to brush my teeth by now! If there was a way to
disable that ‘feature’ I certainly would. I have just practiced ignoring it. And… I don’t know about you, but when I brush my teeth, saliva and toothpaste
is running out of my mouth. This goes directly on the toothbrush handle. Since there is not that good of a rubber grip, the toothbrush ends up slipping
upward in my hand and I have to re-grab it. I am solving this problem by placing rubber bands around the handle to help prevent slippage. Pretty
crazy to have to do this – a larger rubber grip would have made this brush much better.

Who still use manual?

I’ve had this for over a year now and it is the best. I use this along with the water flosser and it has actually got rid of plaque build up and kept it off. It has also made my teeth whiter. I use it with the larger head and on high speed all the time and i’ve actually gone about 2 weeks on one charge with no signs of sluggish performance. I wish I had the money to invest in this a long time ago.

Quality Issue: Faulty battery / charger

The product manual states the ff:
1- Charge for 16h prior to first use (Yes, I followed the instruction)
2- A single charge is good for 1 week of normal use (2x a day)

I returned my first order within a week of arrival, as the unit would not even operate long enough for a single two-minute use (Battery would die and need a minimum of 16h in the charger before the batt indicator light stopped blinking). When the replacement came, the battery would hold charge enough for only 2 two-minute uses. I did not opt for another replacement and returned the item instead.

I think there may be manufacturing quality issues with either the built-in battery or the charger unit (at least for batches shipped Apr..May..2009). Two other reviewers, both dated April 4 2009 seem to have experienced related problems.
